All foreign nationals are required to have entry visas to travel to the Russian Federation. Russian entry visas can be obtained at local Russian Embassy or Consulate, proper authorization (invitation) from the Passport and Visa Department (UVIR) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or specially authorized travel agencies is required. We are able to make invitations of two kinds: for the business visa and for the tourist one. Russian Business VisaThe most popular type of Russian visa is for business people. There are different categories of business visas: single-entry and double-entry.Period of stay in Russia: one month. Russian Business Visas for Workshop participants will be issued for the one month period (from September, 15, 2007 to October, 15, 2007). Visa Invitation: A Business Invitation letter is issued by the request of a Russian company accredited with the local department of the Passport & Visa Service (PVS, formerly OVIR) of the Russian Internal Ministry. Note: A Business Invitation can also be issued by the request of an international organization accredited with the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Terms for issuing a visa at the Russian Consulate: Depends on the Consulate and sometimes on your citizenship. You may also pay more for express processing at the Consulate. Preparation of the invitation for business visa involves the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia which takes 2-4 weeks. Russian Tourist visaA Tourist visa to the Russian Federation is issued to travelers who have booked accommodation in Russia for non-business reason. Tourist visas are issued for a maximum of 14-30 days. A tourist visa is best when you know exactly where and how long you will be staying without diverting from your planned itinerary, wishing to stay in Russia no longer than 14-30 days and need a single-entry visa only.A Russian tourist visa is a passport-size document which is stamped or inserted into the passport. It contains entry and entry/exit dates, your vital information, passport details, and states the visa type. Please note that your Russian visa is an exit permit just like it's an entry permit: if you lose it or stay over your designated departure date, leaving the country could be more troublesome than entering it. Taking into account possible delays in the Russian Embassy we advise all participants to contact us as soon as possible. The invitation can be send to you by fax, e-mail or express mail for the extra charge. For Tourist Visa you may require the Russian Consulate personally or you may ask for a travel agency to issue it. *The price for this type of Visa is €20.
